02/10/2008 - Pastor Dave Sharpes - For nearly 2,000 years, the Body of Christ, called the Church, has gathered together on a regular basis. These gatherings have ranged from small to large, covert to overt, solemn to celebrative. Throughout church history, these gatherings have taken on a variety of forms, styles and traditions. In recent days, especially in the North American churches, there continues to be significant discussion about whether the primary role of these gatherings is for attracting unbelievers, or for the purpose of allowing believers to assemble and celebrate there life in Christ. In addition, the Church has frequently made the gathering times synonymous with our worship of God.
